Mail Archiver V4 was released last month, and now includes the ability to host your database with the open source Firebird RDMS. A recent client of mine was asking about Mail Archiver’s ability to work with WORM drives. The answer is indirectly. Mail Archiver V4 is an important tool in Sarbane Oxley(SOX) compliance. After talking with GFi, it is recommended that you copy your database to a WORM format and use the backup software that is provided with the device. Most archiving software that does interface with WORM devices tend to do so in a very inelegant fashion. Have you been plagued by the image spam that’s going around?
