The bad guys are out to steal you blind at your business. They want user names, passwords, credit card information. Because of the current financial crisis, they are getting more brazen i n their attacks. Now small businesses need network protection more than ever.
GFi as part of their "We Care" program, has decided to make a Freeware version of it's famous LANguard Network Security Scanner V9 available. This isn't cripple ware, but rather a fully functional copy that will scan up to 5 IPs.

LANguard allows you to complete full network scans, individual scans, and will archive these to either a MS Access or SQL database. The next phase is to review up to about 15,000 different vulnerabilities that are detected via Microsoft, OVAL and SANS Top 20 databases. Finally the Remediation phase can deploy Microsoft Service Packs, and Security Patches to a wide range of Microsoft operating systems.

So what's the catch? Well GFi is smart enough to know once you start using LANguard, and when the economy turns around, you will want to grow LANguard with you. Sounds like a win win to me. Download LANguard
