Overview
Virtual tape library emulation mode allows tape backup software to backup to disk without making any changes to the backup software. Backup software sees data as though it was stored in physical tapes, yet it actually resides of disk allowing for reduced backup windows and faster restores. Using StarWind data can be replicated off site and for longer term retention data can still be backed up to tape
